How To Adopt A Dog

Our Adoption Process

Stage I

  1. Fill out application above.
-Make sure you type the correct email
-Include your vet clinic’s phone number
    -Include your reference’s phone number
  2. Call your vet clinic and give them permission to speak with us.
-Let us know that you have called your vet clinic.
If you don’t have a vet, let us know
  3. After speaking with your vet clinic and reference, we may have some questions for you. Please make sure you answer them fully and honestly.
  4. Expect that we will be doing research online about you. We will use Google, Facebook, Twitter, Docket sites, and all available avenues available to us.  We need to make sure our dogs go only to the best homes.
  5. At this point your application will be approved or rejected.  We will let you know either way.

Stage II

  1. After your application has been approved we will set up a meeting at our center.
  2. If you have a current dog, your dog will need to come to the meeting.
  3. If the meet goes well you will be approved to adopt that dog.
  4. Sign the Adoption Agreement and pay the adoption fee.
  5. Take your new best friend home.
  6. We will register your microchip for you.
  7. Join our adopters only group on FaceBook https://www.facebook.com/groups/mommynmerescueadopters/
  8. Take your new dog to the vet for a wellness checkup.
  9. Contact us immediately if you have any problems or questions.
  10. It is important to understand that there are never any guarantees in adoption, but we will do our best to help you work through any issues.

Restrictions

  • You must be 21 years of age or older
  • All dogs in your household must be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Please Note:  We can not  guarantee the condition or temperament of any dog adopted.  We can and will provide you with the best information we have about an individual dog.  Some of these dogs were rescued from shelters, puppy mills,  some are strays, sometimes those who give up an animal do not provide any, much less complete information. We will work with you to try to make sure everything goes well and will put you in touch with a trainer to assist if needed. We will always be here to answer questions, give advice, and support. We want each adoption to work out, we have our hearts and souls invested in each dog that comes into our rescue.
